C Squat
As I dig deeper into the history of AC, I find all these remarkable areas of life and work. C Squat was one such place. Hard to believe that today the cost of living in AC is so astronomical. Back in the day, in this case, the 80s, squatting (or illegally occupying an unused space) was a real thing. People were poor - dead broke often - and living in Manhattan was/is prohibitively expensive. So taking over unused government-owned buildings standing vacant was a political act that continues to this day Squatting is problematic for many governments, owners and those who occupy the space. Both activists/ squatters and property owners have rights, obligations and responsibilities. There is no easy answer to who is right or wrong .
This IF is a game - but it is also a historical snapshot - a look back at how lives were pieced together and how one dealt with adversity.
Enjoy.
